Weekly Development Report: Duriono

1. Gameplay & Mechanics (Duriono)
- Bug Fixes:
- Corrected and combined special effects for PC004 and PC005.
- Fixed an issue where the Ground Trap didn't stop when the player is dead.
- Resolved invalid achievement checks for Endless Survived Time.
- Fixed character animation references and other animation issues.
- Fixed an issue where the chamber would not force end in endless mode.
- Fixed issues with the Hammer weapon.
- Features & Improvements:
- Enhanced special effects and added a shield on nullify.
- Added and updated special effects for PC011, PC015, and PC018.
- Overhauled the special effect for PC007 and updated PC006.
- Implemented and added special effects for PC001, PC002, PC003, and PC004.
- Disabled the ability to use "buy revive" in ranking mode.
- Removed fertilizer prophet rewards and curses when playing in ranked mode.
- Balanced the ranking pre-set and the Hammer weapon.
- Reset enemy spawn time after the Surtr boss died.
Takeaway Note: This week saw a major push on character special effects, with numerous additions and improvements. Key gameplay-impacting bugs were also addressed, and ranked mode received some important balancing changes.
2. UI & Audio (Duriono)
- Bug Fixes:
- Fixed an issue where an empty game progress UI was shown.
- Fixed a bug where the "game over" text could block character selection.
- Fixed an issue where the player level was not shown correctly for levels > 100.
- Fixed the in-game timer to correctly display hours.
- Fixed the display of the endless duration in the ranking section.
- Adjusted the dropdown scroll speed for setting options.
- Fixed various mobile options UI issues.
- Fixed an issue preventing the "exit game" button from being clicked.
- Fixed an issue where mouse clicks were not working in the standalone build.
- Fixed a bug where the normal info popup didn't show elixir info.
- Fixed an issue allowing players to spam the reroll shortcut key.
- Fixed an FMOD sound issue where music would stop when clicking "new game".
- Features & Improvements:
- Polished the game progress UI.
- Unlocked content is now shown one by one.
- Added boss animations to the shop UI.
- Updated the UI for the ranking leaderboard timestamp.
- Improved the daily reward UI and added a test context menu.
- Updated images and UI for the shop in the character selection screen.
- Refactored the UIGameShop lifecycle and merged separate shop UIs into a unified tabbed interface.
- Updated text scaling and the "new record" animation.
- Implemented "1-click" interactions for various UI elements, including loadout info, stat booster cards, prophet cards, chamber nodes, sale items, fate items, difficulty buttons, and perma-stat upgrades.
- Updated the VFX for "New Record".
- Removed the confirmation button from the upgrade perma UI and added an error message popup.
Takeaway Note: A huge amount of work was done on the UI this week, focusing on improving user experience with "1-click" interactions, polishing existing interfaces, and fixing a large number of bugs.
3. Backend (Duraino-api)
- Features & Improvements:
- Added support for an offline leaderboard.
- Bug Fixes:
- Fixed issues with sending data for the offline ranking.
- Fixed an issue where static data for offline ranking was not being reset.
Takeaway Note: Work on the backend was focused on implementing and fixing the offline leaderboard functionality.
4. Infrastructure & Systems (Duriono)
- Bug Fixes:
- Fixed an issue where the fertilizer shop was still shown on non-mobile platforms.
- Fixed an issue with the encryption key.
- Fixed a missing library issue for the standalone build.
- Updated the save-system serializer to preserve backing fields.
- Features & Improvements:
- Removed some bad words from the input validator.
- The input validator for the ranking player name is now triggered on submission.
- Added an "open fertilizer" option in the upgrade scene.
- Added a tool for encrypting string data.
- Updated the build version to 0.6.28.
- Disabled the cheat fertilizer in production builds.
- Added a player name input validator.
Takeaway Note: The focus this week was on improving the input validation, the save system, and the build process.
5. Localization (Duriono)
- Features & Improvements:
- Updated localization data.
- Localized the Duriono shop.
- Localized naming in ranked mode.
- Updated localization and navigation in the options menu.
